About Bandon

In 2010, Budget Travel named Bandon Oregon one of the "Coolest Small Towns in America".  It's located on the Oregon Coast near the Coquille River.  Originally the area was home to the Coquille indians and later, in 1873, the town of Bandon was settled and named by an Irishman who named it after his hometown of Bandon Ireland--now the town's sister city.

Bandon is known for it's cranberries which have been grown there since 1885.  The famous label 'Ocean Spray' buys a lot of these cranberries which means the cranberries probably end up on a store shelf near you.  The second week of every September, the town of Bandon celebrates the cranberry harvest with their Cranberry Festival.  In 2011, the city held it's 65th celebration!

Bandon is also home to a really amazing golf course.  Conde Nast Traveler even voted it the best in course design back in 2008.  That should be enough to lure some of you out there to visit us!
